I'm just starting to look into the idea of travel nursing in the states: studying for the NCLEX, talking to agencies, organizing my mind around the paperwork involved - do any other Canadians have some tips/advice on getting this process done smoothly and efficiently? Recommended agencies? Places to go/avoid? I'm pretty open to different locations, in fact am a bit overwhelmed with all the options! I'll be looking at doing adult or pediatric med/surg.
Appreciate any info./experiences!

Hi Deb,
Start out with the minnesota board of nursing (they are quick)
Get an application
Go To www.cgfns.org get an application
Call your university and ask for your transcripts.
Fax the university the papers from cgfns
Fax your nursing association the verification papers from minnesota AND cgfns.
Go to your lawyer and get the attestation signed for the cgfns.
go to www.pearsonvue.com and get your NCLEX organized (minnesota has to tell them you are qualified to write)
Write the exam.
search for a good agency that will reimburse all of your expenses.
you can e-mail me if you want. cmstevensjade@hotmail.com
Good luck
