Hi
i'd really like to nurse in the US (west coast ideally california)...i'm not sure which agencies to apply with and the pitfalls to look out for. In the UK i am a Practice Nurse..is there anything equivalent in the states (i am well qualified in my role in the UK)? any help would be seriously appreciated

Hi nicknick, I'm going to the US in the next few months, with O'Grady Peyton International. There are other agencies out there, so might be an idea to look in the back of the nursing times or even the RCN bullittin. Most companies prefer recent acute care experience - so it might be worth trying for some bank shifts in hospital based care. Unfortunately it is a lengthy process but hopefully ultimately worth it - most agencies will help you with your NCLEX study as well as the volumes of paperwork required by the US government.
Good Luck Ali |
