[quote="NurseBaker"]Hi, I'm Debbie, an LPN for 30 years in WI. I've posted a couple of times here, visit often, but don't think I've introduced myself!

I'm a soon to be traveler! Been reading all of your advice, checking with different agencies, and just accepted a 26 week assignment with Core Medical Group and will start in 2 weeks if I can get through all the paper work. I am excited! I have been searching for new employment for 21/2 years and hopefully headed to where God wants me.[/quote
That is my dream as well. How exciting for you! God Bless!!

Hello all, I'm the new one now I guess. I watch several nursing forums and message boards and just found this one. Lots of good information out there.
I'm a Director of Nursing in NE (for 6 years) and also just started a nurse expert recruiting business. I think it will be challenging and exciting, not that my current position isn't. Any other nurse consultants out there?

Looking forward to exchanging info here, helping and obtaining help.
Very Happy

Hi, I'm Harriette from the Netherlands working as a nurse since a lot of years. I've been to America last summer and I'm very interested in how nurses work in the States compared to what we do here in Holland. So I'd like to meet and talk to nurses and learn. Very Happy

Hi, my name is Cindy and I live in British Columbia, Canada. I’m currently in my first semester of Nursing. As a nursing student, I’m required to communicate with another nurse and learn about his/her experiences as a nurse. Talking to another nurse would allow me as a student to learn about another perspective regarding the profession. I would love to learn the perspective and experiences that you have had during your nursing career. Would you be willing to participate?

If you are interested, please e-mail me at cindymcrae@shaw.ca I have also included a consent form from my school that is to be filled out and emailed back to me if you decide to participate. Smile

I appreciate your time and hope to hear from you.

Thanks, Cindy.

My name is Carrie and I am an LPN in Southeast Missouri. I have been an LPN for 6 years now, and am working towards my RN degree on a part time basis. I have been thinking of travel nursing for quite sometime, but dont see it happening. Most of my work experience is in LTC and Home Health/In Home. Although I do have a bit of Psych hospital experience, it isnt a year and recent. Cant find a company that will accept anything but 1 year of recent acute hospital care experience. Sad I have been a Medicare Manager, MDS Coordinator, Asst. Director of Nursing for an In Home Agency as well as just plain old charge nurse Smile Smile Smile........sometimes experience doesnt count for much.

Hi there,

I am a student nurse at DePaul University, I am doing a research study, on the Evaluation of barriers to adhereing to standard precautions, and for my IRB application I need an OK from the director of this site to just post a blurb about my study that includes a link to a questionairre. If this is ok to post could you just reply to this, and I could then print it out and send it to the IRB for my school??

Thanks,
Shoshana

Hi. I'm thinking about moving to the ED, but on occasion, get queasy Embarassed on occasion..... like holding a child down while he's screaming and the md is sticking his face with a needle to numb up his gashing wound... stuff like that. I'm wondering if this has happened to others, and if it passes? I need some honest assistance to see if this is the right move. Any ED RN's out there to help me?? Confused
