Great to meet you Jacklyn74rn. Have you worked these various fields all in the same hospital?
No I didn't. I'm currently in a small rural hospital. The psyche position was in a large state mental facility, I was there for 2 years. The longest 2 years of my life. Whle I worked there I was doing prn in the telemetry float pool of a local hospital. After I quit working at the state hospital I just worked float pool in a large hospital and contiuned prn at the local hospital in telemetry. That kept me plenty busy. Very Happy

Great to meet you as well. Hope to develop some good friendships here and be able to talk with other nurses or those who are thinking of going into the field. Razz

I have been an LPN for 24 years, now working with developmentally disabled adults (love it) with a group home facility (love it) in northern Illinois.
I am working slowly on getting my Rn...it may or may not happen....depends on what life brings me!
I plan on semi retiring in 10 years or so, and working part time....and wintering in Fla, while working part time there as well!
any suggestions on that idea?

Hi everyone,
I just found this interesting site!! I am a mother of 5---- 4 boys ages 21, 19, 12, & 10; and a girl age 5. I am married to an awesome man, who is the best!!!
I have been an LPN for 20 years, and an RN for less than a year. I am continuing online for my bachelors to masters.
Currently, I work on an inpatient rehab unit... which I love. However, I had a chance to orient on a surgical floor, which I like even more. My goal is to eventually be an inhouse nurse educator, and possibly a wound care specialist. I love wounds... the more involved, the better!!!!
So, looking forward to using this site!!!

Surprised Hi!!! my name is Sandy and I am a L.P.N. It's a pleasure to be apart of Nurse-Forum.com. I would like to start home study for my RN. Does anyone have any suggestions? I work fulltime at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown N.Y. (The home of the Baseball Hall of Fame). I have been a LPN over 11 years. I will be thankful for any help!!!!

I am a Medical Case Manager but worked in the Hospital/mostly Med/Surg for >14 years. I have been off work for greater than a year from having a large right lung PE (which was no fun) but have finally been released to RTW. I am from TX; have 3 grown, married children, 9 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. I am really anxious to get back to work but I am also excited about going to school via internet at the same time while working. It is nice to know that I have someone that is taking e-classes also. Yeah this forum is great. Hello all, I hope I can learn lots from everyone.

cmpadt: I would suggest you spend time on your english because until you master that you might have trouble getting hired in the U.S. Best of luck to you!
