I am not looking to promote my firm, but instead increase awareness about the cerification. I now work for a JCAHO Certified staffing firm, and I can tell you that I will not ever work for a firm that is not.
There are a few reasons for this. JCAHO points out on their website that their Certification is does not guarantee anything, but it can tell you a lot about the company you are thinking about working for.
* JCAHO asks each agency to be involved with improving their own performance.
* JCAHO interviews hospitals to get feedback on the agency.
* JCAHO interviews healthcare professionals working for the agency to determine the overall satisfaction of the people who work for the company.
* JCAHO evaluates the agencies processes to make sure that they are following HIPAA guildlines for example.
Does JCAHO Certification mean everything? No. But if you are going to consider traveling with a new agency, I really recommend chosing from the pool of JCAHO Certified agencies.
To read more about the standards agencies must meet to achieve certification please see JCAHO's Website. [/list] |
