FLASH FOR YOU!!! TRAVEL NURSES THAT I'VE COME TO KNOW ARE HIGHLY SKILLED AND HAVE TO BE. WE ARE EXPECTED TO COME IN AND AFTER 1 TO 3 DAYS ORIENTATION (IF WE ARE LUCKY) TO DO THE JOB AND EVEN CHARGE AT TIMES. WE DON'T HAVE TO BE WATCH.

IF THE NEED WASN'T THERE; WE WOULDN'T BE THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MAYBE IF YOU GAVE A TRAVELER A CHANCE, YOU'D FIND A TEAM MATE INSTEAD OF US BEING THE ENEMY.

I AM ONE OF THE BEST NURSES YOU WILL FIND. AND MOST TRAVELER ARE THE BEST AS I STATED BEFORE WE HAVE TO BE!!!!!

SO MAYBE YOU SHOULD REALIZE TRAVELERS ARE HERE TO STAY. WE ARE HERE TO HELP YOU STAFF YOUR HOSPITAL SO THE PATIENTS CAN HAVE QUAILITY CARE AND SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO DOUBLES AND ALOT OF OVER TIME BECAUSE YOU ARE SHORT STAFFED.

WE CAN BE YOUR ALLIES, IF YOU JUST LET US DO THE JOB![/u] Mad

AS A TRAVEL NURSE I PRIDE MYSELF IN MY JOB. I AM VERY GOOD AND PROFESSIONAL IN MY CHOSEN AREA OF WORK. AS A TRAVELER, WE ARE EXPECT TO BE ABLE TO DO OUR JOB AFTER 1 DAY GENERAL ORIENTATION, AND IF WE ARE LUCKY 2 TO 3 DAYS ON THE FLOOR. WE HAVE TO EXCEPTIONALLY SKILLED TO BE ALBE TO DO THIS! YES I HAVE COME ACROSS "REGULAR STAFF" WHO TREATED ME AS IF I WAS TRASH. HONEY HATE TO TELL YOU SOMETHING, I COULDN'T TRAVEL IF THE NEED WASN'T THERE. ALOT OF US DO OWN OUR OWN HOMES AND HONEY THE MONEY IS GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE HAVE TO BE THE BEST AND NOTHING LESS, AND I GET PAID TO TRAVEL AND SEE PLACES I THOUGHT I'D NEVER SEE. MAKE GREAT FRIENDS, AND SOMETIMES STAY IN A PLACE A YEAR OR TWO. YOU PAY TAXES ON ALL OF YOUR WAGES, ALOT OF TRAVEL EARNINGS IS TAX FREE AND I MAKE AT LEAST AS MUCH AS YOU DO, BUT PUT ALOT MORE MONEY INTO MY POCKET. MOST OF THE TIME ALOT MORE! Exclamation

THIS IS FOR THE STAFF NURSE WHO IS SO BITTER AGAINST TRAVEL NURSE.. WE PROVIDE A SERVCE FOR YOU. MOST HOSPITALS WORK SHORT STAFFED, ALOT OF OVER TIME AND DOUBLE SHIFTS AND ALOT BURNOUT. THAT'S WHERE WE COME IN TO HELP YOU! MOST OF US ARE HIGHLY SKILLED AND PROFESSIONAL. WE ARE NOT DRUG ADDICTS OR RUNNING FROM THINGS. AND YES IN THE LONG RUN WE DO MAKE BETTER MONEY. ALOT OF US DO OWN HOMES AND PAY THE TAXES ON THEM. SOME OF US JUST WANT TO TRAVEL. I DON'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE POLITICS OF A "STAFF" JOB AND SOMETIMES WE DO HAVE GOOD IDEAS THAT WILL MAKE YOUR JOB EASIER. THAT'S BECAUSE WE HAVE ALOT OF EXPERIENCE FROM OUR TRAVELS. WHAT OTHER JOB PAYS YOU TO TRAVEL AND SEE NEW PLACES/MAKE NEW FRIENDS!?!

GIVE US A CHANCE, OUR JOB IS TO MAKE YOUR JOB EASIER. WE HAVE TO BE HIGHLY SKILLED AT THE JOB. YOU SEE, IF WE ARE LUCKY WE GET 1 DAY OF GENERAL ORIENTATION AND 1 TO 3 DAYS ON THE FLOOR BEFORE WE ARE CUT LOOSE TO DO OUR JOB AND EXPECTED TO KNOW IT, SO YOU HAVE TO BE THE BEST. I KNOW I AM!!

As an ADN in a city hospital, the travelling nurses have filled a void we could not fill with regular staff. Allyally you really need to look at yourself, how do you provide care for patients with such anger. Anywhere you go, there are slots to fill and it gives the regular staff a break. We are NURSES where ever we go and how we provide care.

I'm not gonna brag about the "great money" cuz I don't think I'm making that much- but its a lot more than I can make at home(only 2 hospital systems in town, so wages are kept artificially low). I don't call in sick or complain about working when sick. In fact, I've been called in multiple times to cover for regular staff who had called in sick. I didn't complain, nor did I HAVE to come in. I did it because my unit works as a team, and I don't let my team down. Incidentally, I own my own home as well, but a 400K house where I live would be a flippin' hotel, so mine didn't cost nearly so much- the cost of living here is much more reasonable than in Seattle. I also am making 2 car payments AND supporting the household bills when I don't get to see it but once in a blue wonder.

I'm glad I work where I'm appreciated!

Hey Ally-Man...someone has really pissed in your oatmeal....I happen to be currently finishing a staff contract...yes contract....with benefits and lucrative bonus. I have done traveling and found it to be tedious to say the least. Having been an open-heart nurse,CCRN,member AACN,OCN,and currently accepted to CRNA course in Florida, I found most travel assignments ok. The staff take time to get used to you but now and again WE HAVE SOMEONE LIKE YOU....Get over your-self girl...number one your interest rate must be .001 percent for the ameturization to measure out for the monthly payment you currently meet????? Or do you have an interest only loan??? If so, making the excellent money you are making, when does the true monthly mortgage payment kick in....Man you are messed up if you think anyone followes your line of bull....Wish you the best in Seattle.....been there done that.....did not find the money to equal what you are boasting about...staff or otherwise....But hey....next time you need a hand during a code or bad situation....hope you take into consideration who is reaching that helping hand out to you....
Travelers are a godsent....when utilized to their abilities wonderful.....I have been in management for quite some time and found all to be cabable and qualified...Good luck with your PROFESSIONAL carreer.
