I am curious if in anyone's studies if the history of nursing was given. I think it would be very respectful of those who paved the road for us if we all new the history of nursing. Our careers today are much easier because of theses women.

By the way does anyone know if there is nurses day, kind of like secretary day?

Yes, I learned about the history of nursing in my BSN program. We even read Florence Nightingale's theory of nursing management.

There isn't a Nursing Day. There's an entire week, National Nurses' Week, usually around the first week of May.

Try looking up Clara Barton and Dorathea Dix. Both made their name during the American Civil War.

Oh yes, though the first week of May is National Nurses Week, National Nurses Day is May 6th.
