Enough. I have had just about all I can handle with the current poor communication practices in the health care environment. Not only does poor communication skills make me cringe, it is scary how some of these poor practices lead to poor outcomes for patients. Instead of sitting back and allowing the perception of health care to continue its downward spiral, I decided to do something about it. I developed a communications course for health care professionals that is practical for everyday use. This course is for ALL health care providers--those who know they need it and those who may think they have all the answers. Folks, something has got to change. This can be a change the better. Check it out at www.edvice2go.com.
Effective communication has the potential to:
-increase positive patient outcomes
-increase patient satisfaction
-reduce hospital errors
-improve staff relations
-decrease risks to health care organizations
